Cub Clubs offer Manoa School students experiences to Create, Learn, Understand, Build and Socialize (CLUBS). A list of classes and a brief description, as well as the dates, times and cost, can be found below.
Registration Process
Registration is now open for ALL Cub Club Classes!!
Registration & Payment information for Ukulele with Mr. Ho, Robotics with Mrs. Miyamoto, Media with Mr. Nakasone, & Mālama ʻĀina with Ms. Wichman classes ONLY are as follows:
Registration will open on August 16, 2019 @5:30 pm and end on August 26, 2019 (or until full)

Cub Club Policy
Welcome to another semester of our after-school program called the Cub Clubs (Create, Learn, Understand, Build and Socialize)! Please see the webpage below for specific start and end dates of our classes.
Pick-Up and Drop-Off
Kindergarten students will be picked up at their classroom and walked to their Cub Club class.
Students in grades 1 &2 will be escorted to their Cub Club for the first two
weeks of class and will need to walk on their own there after.
Students in grades 3-5 should walk to their designated Cub Club room on their own.
If your child is not sure where to go, please have them ask their teacher.

Please be sure to let your after-school program know the days your child will be attending cub clubs.
If your child is in A+ or TLC and you are picking your child up directly from their Cub Club classes
please have them sign out of their after-school program before going to their Cub Club class.
If your child will be going to MVC or Japanese school after their Cub Club class it is the responsibility
of the parent to make sure those providers know and pick up arrangements are made.
If your child will be going to A+ or TLC they will taken to their appropriate care provider.
After Class
Students who do not attend any after-school care will only be released to authorized people. Please be on time for
pick-ups. Those not picked up within 15 minutes of class ending will need to be picked up from the main office.
Student Absences
If you child will not be able to make it to their Cub Club, please notify the instructor of the class they will be missing.
Refunds or makeups will not be given for the days the student misses classes.
Student Misconduct & Discipline
General school rules apply to Cub Clubs.
A student who commits a Chapter 19 class A or B offense shall be dismissed from the program.
A student who commits any Chapter 19 Class C or D offense will receive a warning for the first offense and may be
released from the Cub Club for the second offense.
There will be no refund of tuition in either circumstance.

Hawaii PhotoVentures (Grades 2-5)

Mr. Wrenn Okada presents a brand new program that will introduce students into the awe-inspiring world of photography! Students will see the world in a fresh and unique perspective using the state-of-the-art Fujiflim Instax Mini Liplay Hybrid Instant Camera, while developing skills in the arts of selfie, landscape, portrait, product, black and white and macro photography. Principles in composition, lighting, rule of thirds, indoor vs. outdoor photography and much more will be explored while students shoot, edit in-camera, print and showcase their work in a take-home portfolio. All materials will be provided and include Instax Mini Liplay Cameras, Instax film, professional Sony and Canon mirrorless Cameras, GoPro, iPhone, lighting, props, tripods and more. This class will give an opportunity for students to learn and play 'ukulele. Students will learn basic fundamentals of ukulele playing, music theory and ensemble playing. They will also be exposed to different genres of music such as Hawaiian, Blues/Jazz, pop and American folk. You do not need an 'ukulele to join or have any prior experience. SPORTS JAM ACADEMY is a safe, fun and exciting sports training & fitness afterschool program, recommended for GRADES K – 3rd.
Each 1 hour class session will emphasize speed & quickness development, as well as basic skills & drills in various team sports, (including Basketball, Football, Baseball & Volleyball). Student/players will also learn about proper nutrition, teamwork, & positive sportsmanship & build self confidence - all while making new, lasting friendships. All gear & equipment is supplied. Robotics (Grades 3-5)

Students will have an opportunity to learn and explore the world of robotics. Through VEX robotics, we will be looking at developing basic skills necessary to create functioning machines. Students will also be fostering team-building abilities as they work with peers. This class is for students who are interested in robotics and who are willing to persevere and problem solve.

Q Golf School (Grades K-5)

School LLC offers golf lessons to children with all equipment provided. Lessons focus on basic athletic skills and coordination, as well as fundamental golfing skills of putting, chipping, pitching and full swings. Students learn about rules, etiquette and math while participating in a variety of games designed introduce practice techniques, encourage sound golf skills, friendly competition and fun! Hip Hop can improve muscle tone, strengthen posture, increase balance and coordination and improve health. But the biggest benefit of dance is that it’s fun. Papa Hula (Grades K-5)

Class Description: Papa hula (hula class) offers haumāna (students) the opportunity to learn and solidify the basic feet and hand movements of hula. They will also learn oli (chant) that tells stories through expression of the voice. They will use this foundation to express the meaning of mele (song/ stories) through dance while learning what these mele are about and what we can learn from it. Papa Hula: For students with little to no hula experience. Will be participating in the Mānoa Christmas Parade. Hawaiian Island Flag Football in association with NFL FLAG presents a fun and safe after-school program for Grades K-5. Students learn to play flag football in a fun and safe environment with emphasis on basic fundamentals, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

Getting an early start in arts can make a real difference in the lives of children. With encouragement and guidance, we provide hands-on classes for all grade students. The Media Production Cub Club will allow students to focus upon video production and video editing. The production group will be creating video segments to be posted monthly on the Manoa Elementary web site highlighting events, programs and the people of Manoa.
