Junior Police Officers

The purpose of the Junior Traffic Police Organization, JPO, is to promote a positive traffic safety program among students. Manoa Elementary School's JPOs are selected from fourth, fifth and sixth grades. Their responsibilities include safeguarding our students while crossing roadways near the school and enforcing sidewalk safety. Our JPOs must meet standards which promote teamwork, responsibility and respect for others.

The JPOs drill once a week. These drills teach a precise and orderly way of doing things. Drilling increases skill and coordination, accustoms one to group response to commands and promotes teamwork.
